Koh Ngai Resort, Trang, Koh Ngai This place was GORGEOUS and our room was great! However, don t go during non-peak season. We had originally booked 6 nights here, but since it was non-peak season and there were only 3 other guests besides us, they had ALL the amenities shut down: the internet cafe, electricity, restaurants were only on partial menu and there was NO entertainment, the massage/spa, pool bars, stores (couldn t buy suntan lotion, snacks or bug spray), any and all boat tours and ways off the island were shut down - there was nothing to do. So avoid Koh Ngai (the whole island) during off-season, but I would highly recommend this place during peak season. We had the beach front cottage and it was simple, but the view was magnificent. Our porch overlooked the beach and the pool, yet was under a tree so it was cool and relaxing. The pool was nice and the grounds well kept. We d go back but ONLY during peak season. In fact, we managed to trek through the jungle to get to other resorts and this was, in my opinion, the best on the island. Final answer: avoid the whole island of Koh Ngai during off-season (stick with someplace more touristy and busy), but choose Koh Ngai Resort during the peak season. |
Your site was great. they had originally charged us for the full 6 nights, but then credited us very quickly when we checked out after only 2 nights. They also booked our transportation from the Trang airport to the island, which involved a bus and a boat ride. Very positive experience with your site. |

Hatyai Rama Hotel, Songkhla, Hat Yai It was a two day one night stay at hat yai for my husband and i and we chose the rama as we wanted something located just away from the chaos of the centre.the hotel appears fairly small from the outside with a very plain, under decorated lobby and reception but we were taken aback after seeing how huge it seemed from the inside.
our room was a standard single, spacious and clean.the toilet was spotless and equipped with necessary amenities.although the furniture boosts a 70 s look, its clean with no stale smell.the airconditioning system however was a bit too cold for us.
breakfast does not comprise a buffett.its a choice between an american or asian set.we opted for the american meal which was very average and basic.there s no swimming pool.room rates are affordable from anything between TB600-1000.its a mere 15minutes walk to the city centre where McDonald s,KFC,Swensen s are located and the shopping district is just a 10minute ride by the tuk-tuk which cost TB 20 per person.the front office staff and bell service is satisfactory and hospitable but proficiency in english is very limited.
all in all,for budget travelling with a twist of comfort and cleanliness,i would suggest the hat yai rama.we had a pleasant stay in hat yai. |
booking service was prompt but not very informative unless we put in emails to inquire.service is satisfactory. |

V.L. Hatyai Hotel, Songkhla, Hat Yai Checkin was easy and fast. Just hand over the booking voucher and passport and the receptionst filled up the forms for me and passed the room keys almost immediately. I would say it was a good service and bell boy helped us with our luggages and we even asked a few question and he answer politely. Furthermore we ask for a direction and maps straightaway the bell boy went down and brought up a map and show us how to go about in Hatyai. Thats pretty impressive response! Will definitely recommend traveller to stay at the hotel. Rooms was almost fully renovated and clean but left a bit of smells but that should be no problem after a few sprays of air refresher. |
Easy booking I must say. Just tick and select the available rooms and email replied promptly. Online payment when through without any problems. |

The Cliff & River Jungle Resort, Surat Thani, Khao Sok NP A very lovely spot and highly recommanded if you like romantic rooms (the light-pulbs are of very poor light, especially if you like to read at night or during a rainy day). But really everything else we liked much more as at other hotels. Food was really good, quick and cheap! Spotless clean and green place, where everybody likes to take photographs of butterflies, beetles and flowers in the large garden. |
Eveything was quite to our satisfaction |

Ekman Garden Resort, Nakorn Si Thammarat, Sichon Ekman Garden Resort looked like paradise. The owners Anna and Staffan treaded us as we were family. The meals were delicious. Our stay was far to short. We wished we could have stayed longer.

The Cliff & River Jungle Resort, Surat Thani, Khao Sok NP We spent 2 nights at this breathtaking and peaceful location. The service was outstanding, the hotel manager and the head waiter spoke very good english, and all staff were polite and very helpful. The rooms were beautifully appointed, with a lovely back to nature feel about them and they have either a large balcony like ours or a large terrace which overlooks the mountains and jungle. We awoke to the sound of gibbons and other monkey species, as well as birds each morning. The restaurant served very good food and there was plenty of choice on the menu of thai and western meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner). The staff were also flexible about making up items which weren t on the menu to suit guests tastes/diet requirements. The resort is about 10km from the park entrance, which adds to the sense of solitude and peace. We had a rental car, but the manager is happy to arrange any tours, treks or transportation you might need. Overall, Cliff and River Resort was a very special part of our stay in Thailand, I would highly recommend this resort for couples or families (we had our 4 children with us and they loved it). We would certainly come back to this resort when next in Thailand! |
Your site s booking service was very easy and efficient. |

V.L. Hatyai Hotel, Songkhla, Hat Yai The hotel is spacious, clean. Location is great, close to eating areas, and shopping areas as well.
The receptionist is very kind, informing and suggesting the best alternative to the travel around the cities. I plan to stay in this hotel next time I go to Hat Yai

New Season Hotel, Songkhla, Hat Yai I requested a non smoking room. When checking into the hotel, I was informed that a non smoking room was not available. What else can I say? Moved to two rooms to find one that could be ventilated and usable for that night. Offered to move second night stay but by then it had aired out enough. Did have free wired internet in room and close to downtown. Only had one site review when I booked. Will wait for more next time. |
Only problem was getting the non smoking room. Don t know where the problem originated but not good. |

Diamond Plaza Hotel, Suratthani Efficient but impersonal like in many Thai provincial non-tourist towns. Breakfast was a bit of a free for all and as there were no tables I had to grab some toast to eat in the lobby.
But that aside, clean comfortable and great value. Nice pool. Front desk staff extremely helpful when I asked about transport to railway station. |
Fine. |
