Coco Garden Bungalows, Ban Tai Beach
Room was very basic, but what we paid for. Power fluctuations meant our fan barely worked which made the room practically unlivable during the day. However, staff were incredibly friendly and the site is excellently kept. Gorgeous views onto the beach which is literally on your doorstep |

Cookies Salad Resort, Salad Beach
Cookies is a fantastic place to relax and be spoiled. The staff are excellent and really friendly and there is a superb atmosphere in the place. The rooms were spacious and provide a great seaview. I will certainly be returning soon and can recommend Cookies to anybody wishing to book great accomodation in a beautiful spot! |

Loyfa Bungalow, Srithanu Beach
Over priced (we booked the basic standard)
The room was filthy - stunk of algea
in the 4 nights booked there did not have bedding or towels changed once, or the room cleaned
We were over run by ants - I don t just mean 1 or 2, but 1000 s. About 5 times each day we were trying to clear them out of the bathroom with water.
We asked to move rooms but was booked up until our last night & then we managed to move, but had to pay extra for the privaledge. The room was better but the door was not safe & didn t lock properly.
The private beach isn t great & we walked the 20mins to the main beach which is much cleaner.
We couldn t wait to leave this place & will never go back. |

Mandalai Hotel, Chaloklum Bay
The hotel is fine but far from being a luxury hotel as it is said on several internet sites.
The beach in front of the hotel is a little dirty with the hotel s sewer that flowes in the water (despite of asking us to keep towels several days for the environnement !!).
The hotel s restaurant is very expensive and the breakfast could be better. |

Haad Yao Bayview Resort, Haad Yao Beach
Went to Koh Phangan for obviously the FMP and due to the short period of time staying on the island we could only get accommodation compatible in the northern area which meant a very fast and mostly scary ride back and forth in a large tuk tuk...something I dont recommend! The resort itself was heaven and right on the beach sharing it with only one other resort close by so you really do feel secluded and deserted! We had a deluxe seaview and it was everything it promised and at a great value too...staff are friendly but service is a little slow so expect to be constantly on thai time (ie; plate of chips took 40 minutes...and don t get me started on the tuna salad!!)Make sure you visit the Reggae Bar round the corner if you like a bit of Bob Marley. |
