The Down Town Inn, Loi Kho Road – Chiang Mai is located in the heart of Chiang Mai, Thailand next to the Handicraft Center, the well-known Night Bazaar.
The Down Town Inn Chiang Mai offers all 72 accommodations have an elegant boutique-like interior and equipped with individually controlled air conditioning, mini bar, color television, multi-channel music system and direct dial telephone. The Downtown Inn provided several standards of rooms: Superior, Deluxe. Extra beds are available for all room-types.
Accommodation and facilities:
The Downtown Inn should be renamed Downunder Den.
This is not the worst hotel I have ever stayed in but it is the top 5 running for worst. We fought mosquitoes all night the first night.
The bathroom is so small that you must move the shower curtain to get to the toilet.
The breakfast buffet, we have previously enjoyed, was no longer available.
This morning I woke up with a terrible back ache from a too soft bed.
We will definitely not be returning to this hotel and will submit our review to websites.

Very nice hotel.Close to the nightmarket.Very friendly and helpful staff.Buffet breakfast with delicious food every day.Close to the travelagencies.I will stay in this hotel again.

The service (reception / food at room service was very good. The staffs were helpful. BF was OK but look not so clean. The room looked a bit small and old. The pool was too small for swimming. It is very close to night barzar. Recommend if you do not want to stay too far from the night market. Value for your money.

The good bit: its a great location and 1,000 baht.
But, lets for a minute look at the pictures in the dining room; Jim Morrison, Marilyn Monroe, James Dean and the Beatles. Now, do you think this could be some kind of retro-chic ? or is it just a sign that the hotel hasn t been updated since the 80 s ?
Well why not pay your 1,000 baht and find out ? but be prepared for that strange smell in the room to permeate your clothes - the smell of 20 years worth of unchanged carpet and mattress that you can take away as a souvenir.
And can i pass on my thanks to the cleaning staff who in the staff room next to my room (305) would help me wake up at 7 am everyday by banging on the wall. Fantastic job.
Oh - and the breakfast is good.

Good location close to night market and a lot of good thai restaurants; in same time a quiet place. Breakfast was not interesting, nearly no thai food! The staff was friendly and helpful.

great hotel for a cheap price. good location to night bazar, far enough away to be quiet. all the staff were freindly and helpful. Looking out from the hotel visit the touris agent just accross and on the left of the hotel. She was very helpful and friendly.

Check in was oke. Friendly staff.\r\nBreakfast was very good.\r\nMinuspoints: Many bedbugs in the room. When we let the airconditioning running during the night, the stayed away. \r\nBreakfast staff was cleaning the table before breakfast time was over and they sat down to eat them selves.\r\nNo good advertising.\r\nWe do not recommend the hotel to other people.

Very central location; no neeed for transportation to satisfy daily needs and most of our shopping. Pool s not so big but enough to make the children happy. This was the 3rd time here.

Down Town Inn was one of the best hotels we stayed at during our trip in Thailand. The staff was always friendly, the hotel was clean and the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend everyone to stay at this hotel. It s location was also one of the best things with the hotel. Remember DOWN TOWN INN when you re in Chiang Mai.
