Indulge in
the Metropolitan way of life: fresh, style, energetic.
The Metropolitan, Bangkok, is the Thai capital's newest
hotspot for those at the centre of the action. A cool and
contemporary east-west aesthetic with modern Oriental
accents is combined with award-winning cuisine, a holistic
spa and Bangkok's chicest lounge bar. However, the
Metropolitan, Bangkok, is also a place for the most
demanding traveler who seeks not just style, but accurate
service. Here, at this calming haven within the urban
hubbub, experience COMO's belief in detail
-and our meaningful promise of perfect respite from a busy
day.
Experience simplicity's power, and the chic appeal
of understatement. The hotel's 171 rooms, including four penthouse
suites and a two-bedroom presidential fiefdom, share a cosseting,
contemporary style by Kathryn Kng, a Singapore-based interior design
practice.
The look is fresh without being ferociously avant
garde, acknowledging influences from both the east and west.
The simple, ample volumes are flooded with light, manipulated by
lighting architects, Isometrics, London.
Natural materials
include Makha wood from Thailand, combined with oxidized brass
paneling. Paintings are also featured, by Natee Utarit, an
up-and-coming artist at the cutting edge of Asia's art scene.
Utarit's images, hung throughout the hotel, give depth to the
otherwise clean-lined spaces.
